Russ Burden presents “Under Tanzanian Skies” on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 7pm, Lone Tree Civic Center.
Arrive 15 minutes early for social time, to visit with your fellow club members and meet some new folks. The program is 7pm – 9pm.
Russ Burden will give a two part presentation:
Part 1 is an instructional how-to keynote presentation that demonstrates his fondness for Tanzania. It includes instructional photos that depict his most common tour mottos: It’s All About The Light, Edit Before Pressing the Shutter, Exhaust All Possibilities, Watch For Those Blinkies, and more… He will show examples of images that illustrate what to do before pressing the shutter so you too can make award winning safari and wildlife images.
Part 2 is a 20 minute offering of Russ’s safari photos set to music. It’s an escape into the land of the Serengeti showing both wildlife and scenery.
About Russ Burden:
Russ Burden is the owner of Russ Burden Nature Photography Tours. He runs wildlife workshops around the US in addition to multiple safaris to Tanzania at different times of the year. He is internationally published and his commercial work is marketed through Getty Images. His wildlife and scenic images have appeared on calendars published by Self Realization Fellowship, Kodak, Audubon, Sierra Club, National Wildlife, National Geographic Traveler, and more.
Russ is the writer of the Tip of the Week for the Outdoor Photographer. He’s been doing this for years. He has hundreds of tips archived on the OP website. Russ is a multiple time winner of the prestigious Nature’s Best Windland Smith Rice Award in many categories in addition to having numerous safari photos honored and hung in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC. Russ has been published numerous times in Outdoor Photographer, Popular Photography, and Petersen’s PHOTOgraphic. He has two books to his credit: Amphoto’s Complete Guide to Photography and The Best of Nature by Amherst Media.
Russ has an incredible passion for photography and seeks to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with all his workshop participants. His drive to seek optimal light and composition motivates him to create the perfect image. His energy and commitment to photography are contagious and it’s his goal to help others get to this point in their pursuit of our wonderful art.
