Simone Severo presents “Introduction to Speedlights” on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 7pm, Lone Tree Civic Center.
Arrive 15 minutes early for social time, to visit with your fellow club members and meet some new folks. The program is 7pm – 9pm.
This presentation introduces people to speedlights for portrait photography. Simone will talk about using off-camera-flash, a basic class to help you to get ready to explore the portable sun you can carry with you at all times – known as speed light flash.
Content includes:
- What to get when you are starting with speed lights
- Speedlights x studio flash
- Why I photograph in manual flash and not ETTL – and why I think you should as well
- How to set up a basic off camera flash system
- How to create your bag of tricks and what should be there
About Simone Severo:
I have been doing photography for over 20 years. My grandfather was the only in my family who had a camera when I was a child and I was fascinated with his black and white photos.
Lighting is my voice. My style is dark and dramatic, on purpose. I believe in minimal light on my subject to let them shine. I can use one or multiple lights to create my photos, as long as they say something about my subject that I believe make it an honest portrait.
Photographers who have greatly influenced me: Steve McCurry, Sebastiao Salgado, Richard Avedon. Check out more of my work at Simone Vision Photography.
